Fantasia
was our nephew, JT’s pick of the 2005 kids once he’d earned enough “goat credits”. She is the result of an attempt at getting as close as we could to making another Roulette . . . with Roulette’s
DD, Altrece Petals on the Wind being litter sister to Fancy’s SD, Altrece the Knight Watchman (a repeat of Éclair’s
sire, Altrece Fire in the Night) . . .& with Fancy & Roulette’s dam, Russian being quite similar in type (&
in the areas of desired improvements), the Dash x Fancy breeding worked out quite nicely!
A
typical Dash kid with her gregarious demeanor, pretty head & overall “look”, Fantasia is just the sweetest,
most personable little thing w/ the ceeeYOOTest personality . . . it didn’t take her long to become an absolute herd
favorite!
The 2003 Dash
daughters have developed into fine examples of the “total package” we’re striving for in our breeding program. Aside from being attractive & showy does, they’re also affable, hardy &
efficient does, demonstrating the “will to milk” with long & level lactations, producing
out of remarkable
mammaries, too with the Dash daughters being able to boast the highest rear udder scores in the herd for 2005 (with the lowest
scoring 45), all appraising overall “Good Plus” or “Very Good” as 2 y.o.s, all scoring “Excellent”
or “Very Good” in Rear Legs, Feet, Back & Dairy Character, & all but one scoring “Very Good”
in head (with the one being “Good Plus”)! As you might be able to
guess . . . we love our Dash daughters! J
Fantasia’s
dam, Fancy was also a favorite, excelling in the areas of Dairy Character & Body Capacity in which she scored “Excellent”
as a 4 y.o., & possessing one of the finest mammaries in the herd at that time, scoring 36 in Fore Attachment; 37 in Rear
Height; 34 Rear Arch; 25 MSL; 23 Depth & a 35 in Rear Udder Side View, with the appraiser commenting that the only item
preventing her from an overall “E” mammary being her teat placement. (11)
Fantasia’s
maternal sister, Finesse (sired by Jrufio) looked quite like a replica of mom, showing impressive depth for her age &
freshening with an equally-impressive mammary, being just as high & wide in the rear, just as extended & smooth in
the fore - & improved in the areas of teat placement, MSL & overall globularity.
One
of the youngest of the 2005 clan, Fantasia has matured immensely just within the past few short months & is developing
into a VERY nice doe. She is likely the most structurally correct of the Dash
daughters with wonderful General Appearance, a beautiful body, long & level topline, good width throughout, very nice
depth for her age/maturity & standing on nice strong feet & legs. She’s
following in her older sisters’ footsteps, freshening with a correct & productive mammary, also demonstrating a
nice long & level lactation her first freshening. She’s a doe who’s
just going to keep getting better & better as she matures!
