Sonatina is a beautiful, large doe that we feel very lucky to have acquired - & the cause of our addiction to Seven Maples’ Toggenburgs. We cannot thank Elaine & Jerry Eidemiller enough for allowing us to add these fine, fine specimens to our herd!

With both Sonatina’s Sire & Dam carrying Final Scores of EX90, we can’t help but to be excited about her future. Her dam, Sonata is a dazzling doe who appraised with an E mammary as a first freshening 2 year old! She scored within the “Ideal” range in nearly every category as a second-freshening 3 year old & lineared particularly remarkably with a 30 in Strength, 36 in Dairyness, 40 in Fore Udder Attachment & Rear Udder Height, 29 in Rear Udder Arch, 27 in MSL, 29 in Udder Depth, 25 Teat Placement, Excellent in Back & Very Good in Front & Rear Legs, Rump & Udder Texture . . . rounding things out with a very impressive final score of 90 VEVE. What a doe!

Sonatina's sire Whistler comes from generations of “Overall Excellents” with his sire, King appraising EX90 & his dam, Karina appraising EX91 EEEE as a 5 y.o. Karina was also the 1997 ADGA National 1^stplace/1^st udder 4 year old! Not to be outdone, Whistler’’s outstanding final score of EX90 VEE as a 2 year old is a pretty good indicator of what he’s all about! ;) Stature 39, Strength 35, Dairyness of 34, Rump Angle of 34, Rump Width of 36, Rear Leg Side View of 28, Escutcheon Height of 25 & Escutcheon Arch of 22. Excellent in the areas of Head, Rear Legs & Rump; Very Good in the areas of Shoulder Assembly, Front Legs & Back. What a buck!

Sonatina freshened with a nearly flawless mammary in 2005 & I couldn't wait to have her appraised & get her into a show-ring! Thanks to my absentmindedness, somehow managing to mess up her papers not just once - but twice, LOL! - during ADGA's busiest season, no less! - she was not able to be appraised & didn't get to her first show until very late in the season . . . but where she went RGCH, nonetheless!

Sonatina continued to do just as well for the remainder of the season, undefeated in her age class except for standing 2nd to her equally-as-stunning 7/8 sister, CH Seven-Maples Wh-Ser Synergy LA 87 VVEE as a first freshening 2 y.o. (& who earned her permanent championship her first season!). Sonatina finished the 2005 season with a bang, going Grand Champion & Best Udder & was a contributing member of our 1st place dairy herd.  We feel she should be something to watch for as she matures!

UPDATE: 7/8 sister, CH Synergy won the 5-6 y.o. class at the 2008 ADGA National Show & was then named National Best Udder of Breed!

Sonatina’s 2006 daughter, Sonnet is a gorgeous doe, even improved over her dam in a few areas. She’s probably the best Togg we’ve bred to date & as such, we continue to repeat the breeding, hoping for another just like her!
