TERMS OF SALE:

Preamble: Our goats are our passion and we welcome fellow kindred spirits with open arms!  We will do our best to fulfill your requirements.  Please realize however that our farm is also our business, therefore is operated as such.  Despite the strict (& perhaps verbose) tenor of these terms, we are easy to work with & strive to be as accommodating as we can, with the intended objective being: to protect the interests & overall well-being of all parties - Buyer, Seller & Animal(s) - to ensure a fair, ethical & smooth transaction all the way around . . . a philosophy which we hope others also appreciate.

Now, onto the Nitty Gritties:

1) DEPOSIT of $50.00 will reserve the animal of your choice.  Receipt of said deposit will not only secure the reservation of your choice animal but also acts as implied consent on your behalf to comply with these terms. . . as will we.

2) DESCRIPTION of animals who are offered for sale will be as accurately presented as possible.  It will be understood that the Buyer examined & was satisfied with the quality & condition of the animal upon taking the animal into his/her possession & removing the animal from our farm.  Since we cannot possibly have any control over how animals are managed once leaving our possession, it will also be understood that, upon the animal leaving this property, all liabilities & responsibilities for the animal immediately transfer to the Buyer.

3) PRICES for pre-ordered kids &/or “Open Does” are subject to change once the kid is born or the doe is bred.

4) PAYMENT must be in "guaranteed funds": cash, money order, PayPal, etc. Please be advised that we can no longer accept personal checks due to past, unfortunate incidents.

5) BALANCE/PICKUP/SHIPPING are due within 2 weeks of receipt of deposit &/or upon notification of birth (see below for NEWBORN terms).  PLEASE NOTE:  If balance is not received within 2 weeks, animals will be offered to the next interested party & your deposit will be forfeited.  If animals are not picked up/shipped within the allotted period, a boarding fee of $1.00 per day for weaned kids & dry stock, & $2.00 per day for kids still on milk & milkers will be applied after that time.  Any & all “outstanding monies” must be satisfied prior to the animal leaving our farm.  Please be advised that there will be no refunds on cancelled orders.

6)  "BREEDERS' RIGHT" is reserved to choose our replacement kids.  When making kid reservations, please make a 2nd choice in the event that your 1st choice isn't born/available.  If both 1st & 2nd choices are not available, your deposit can be applied to another, available animal or breeding of your choice or rolled over to the following year.  Please be advised however, that there will be no refunds on canceled orders.

7) NEWBORNS must be picked up or shipped no later than 4 weeks of age unless prior arrangements have been made.  Depending upon time constraints, arrangements may be possible to have kids raised to weaning for an additional fee.

8) TRANSPORTATION arrangements & expenses (shipping, crates, vet checks & health certificates, etc.) are the SOLE responsibility of the Buyer.  Air-shipping out of Toledo Express Airport/Toledo, Ohio is available for an additional fee to compensate for our time & gas.  Our crate or yours . . . We can purchase a crate for you (recommended), you can ship yours to us, or you can use one of ours.  If using ours, a deposit of $35.00 will be required & will be refunded upon the safe return of the crate to our farm.

9) GUARANTEES:  Animals of our breeding are guaranteed to be reproductively sound.  We abide by the rules set forth by the American Dairy Goat Association, as defined under Section XIX, Recommended Trade Practices For Members, Subsection B & D, as written in the ADGA Guidebook which can be reviewed on their website here: http://www.adga.org/2004-trade-practice.html#98  Any animal that is found to be otherwise will be replaced.  The defective animal must be returned to our farm within the allotted time-frame & must be accompanied by registration paper(s) & a signed statement written by a licensed veterinarian who examined the animal & diagnosed the problem as congenital in origin.  In the event that said defective animal is residing on a farm where distance proves to be an issue, other arrangements will be made for a replacement.

10) BREEDING SERVICE: Does brought for buck service must be healthy & free of contagious disease.  No boarding is available.  If a doe re-cycles, she can return for one rebreed during that breeding season at no extra charge.  At the time of breeding, doe owners will sign a statement that no bucks from the breeding will be registered unless agreed upon after dam & son(s) are assessed to be of the quality worthy of adding those genetics to the gene pool.  The signed statement will be attached to an official ADGA Service Memo, copies of which will be provided to ADGA to ensure the following of proper procedure by all parties.

11) SALE OF BRED DOES: We abide by the rules set forth by the American Dairy Goat Association, with a doe being sold as “a bred doe” as defined under Section XIX, Recommended Trade Practices For Members, Subsection E, as written in the ADGA Guidebook & can be reviewed on their website here:  http://www.adga.org/2004-trade-practice.html#98  At the time of purchase, Buyer will sign a statement that no bucks from the breeding will be registered unless agreed upon after dam & son(s) are assessed to be of the quality worthy of adding those genetics to the gene pool.  The signed statement will be attached to an official ADGA Bill of Sale, copies of which will be provided to ADGA to ensure the following of proper procedure by all parties. Upon those kids’ birth, Buyer will notify Seller/Breeder.  Contingent upon the offspring meeting the necessary criteria for registry with ADGA & the criteria Breeder/Seller deems necessary to act as breeding stock, Breeder/Seller will provide the appropriate paperwork to register said kid(s) at no additional expense to Buyer.

12) DISCOUNTS: We offer a 10% discount for 4H & FFA, multiple purchases & to “repeat customers”.  These discounts will not apply if the transaction includes trade items or if we are providing transport assistance.

Thank you for your consideration.
